Показать описание
Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS) is also known as Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO). A machine is used to take over the work of the patient's heart and/or lungs. ECLS is used in special cases where standard medical care will not work. In this video, Nebraska Medicine cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Aleem Siddique explains how ECLS works, the goals/risks, who will be managing the patient and when to stop ECLS.
