Our Palawan trip was totally unplanned. We originally booked to visit Boracay but unfortunately was cancelled so we looked for other options and chose Palawan. Part 1 our Palawan trip showcases the resort where we stayed in - Sunlight Ecotourism Island Resort. It is an 18-hectare resort development on Naglayan Island which is one of the 41 islands around the main island of Culion.

From the Sunlight Guest Hotel in Coron, Palawan, it is roughly an hour via speedboat to the island resort. Upon arrival, we were greeted by fishes, island-vibe music, and some refreshing welcome drinks.

SETIR’s water villas are Filipino-themed and have an ocean view of either sunrise or sunset. Quite timely and funny because Gab has been bugging us if we could stay in a water villa on one of our trips.

One of our favorite activities on the island is snorkeling where we saw a school of fish….We also did a lot of kayaking, some paddle boarding, more snorkeling, and chilling at their infinity pool.

Lastly, the food and ambiance are really good. Their Japanese Teppanyaki dinner, degustation or tasting menu, and dinner by the beach were all amazing experiences aside from the the fact that we found it hard to book them which we think is a little disorganized since our stay is under their Leisure and Dine package.

Overall, our experience at Sunlight Ecotourism Island Resort, in Gab’s own words, was awesome.
