Take note kids. This is textbook distortion of the truth.
#1. That no one "saw it coming" is demonstrably false.
#2. Peak conventional oil has been reached 12-15 years ago. Peak Total may have been past recently but it's ultimately not that relevant.
#3. 6:44 - 6:55 It's way worse than that... but my my ... Bloomberg seems to like walking a fine line between slight obfuscation and cheerful propaganda.
#4 There is no such thing as green energy.
#5 7:05 - 7:33 Now there's our daily dose of corporate optimism bullshit !!
There is no goddamn way to totally decouple the economy from oil on the horizon for ANYONE.

Note to Bloomberg : Maybe you should hire scientifically literate journalist to report on the "energy transition" show ... don't you think ? because right now I detect some serious fuckin' shortcomings in REQUIRED RELEVANT KNOWLEDGE .

Interesting footage of the Chinese bureaucrat Xie Zhenhua though ...

LOL, i love listening to clueless people talk about peak oil. It's like they don't even look at the statistics and reality and just want to wish peak oil to happen. People act like energy is all that we use oil for, nothing could be further from the truth. Oil is SO MUCH MORE and involved in our lives in almost every way possible BEYOND energy. The world is awash in everything oil does and most people don't even realize it. It's really funny when people want to compare companies like NEE with XOM, what a joke.
"Big oil is not out of the picture"...not only are they not out of the picture they are still in and will be for many years THE LEADING form of energy production among all the other things big oil does in our lives to make the modern world possible.
The real world needs more oil for energy MORE then it does highly expensive green energy, who do you think is going to provide energy to poorer nations? EV's...that 1% of the car market, have any of you clowns even looked at the power demand to move from ICE to EV's and the power generation required? The "banning" of ICE vehicles...lol yea that will happen soon because obviously people want to pay 10k extra for a vehicle, the misinformation is real. Yes tiny localities have put a ban on things 15 YEARS in the future or more. Get a grip on reality.
The propaganda here is pretty sad. Yes green energy is the future, but oil will be around for decades and decades to come regardless because oil does so much more and is cheaper to use and commit too. EV's and batter technology in particular need those decades to become viable anyways longterm because what is in the market place now is not viable long term ESPECIALLY when you actually look into the energy requirements required for a full fleet conversion.
