Drone footage captured extensive damage to Hostomel airport and the world’s heaviest aircraft, in video released by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense on April 4, 2022.

The Antonov-225 Mriya cargo plane was destroyed by a Russian attack on the airport, situated in a northwestern suburb of Kyiv.

Mriya, along with lighter aircraft housed in the hangar, was surrounded by burned-out and abandoned tanks and other heavy artillery, following Russia’s withdrawal from the airport.

Convoys of destroyed military vehicles also lined the tarmac outside the airport’s hangar.
