One thing I can't get my head around is why they give you the option to grab the ropes while being pinned because the ref never sees it and you just lose anyway...

Button mashing will always be the best method, the smackdown v raws with that pin system was goated and so were those games. Haven’t enjoyed a wwe game since they changed the system so glad they’re reverting back to the old style

I failed to break out of pinfall and submission attempts with the button mashing one. I'd really liked to know what I did wrong. lol

I stopped playing wrestling games when they moved to the stupid timed pin kickout mini-game system. I am no good at that timed button press stuff, so I played the demo when they first introduced this pin mechanic, and was getting pinned at the start of all the matches when I was barely worn down. Now that the good old button mash escape is back, I can finally play a new wrestling game again!

for online you cannot change the button mashing mini game

I’m not a fan of it because like back in the early days of WWE games, once you’re so damaged you literally have no hope of kicking out no matter how much button mashing you do. Only difference is you see a meter. In the later SVR days and earlier 2K days when holding A then releasing it once it overlaps the marker was great to me. No matter how damaged you are, you still have some hope when timing it correctly. I think 2K14 had the best pinning system. Hopefully the timing option is true.

I don't mind button mashing but can you "disable" the animation of the the A/X button being filled up? It kinda takes the suspense of the kick outs imo

Plus you can only use payback resiliency just once in wwe2k22 but in wwe2k19 you use payback resiliency more than once wwe2k19 online there were possibilities where you can kick out of anything no matter how badly injured your character is same thing with breaking out of submissions too but wwe2k22 it's almost impossible that you have a chance to kick out or break out of submissions no matter how hurt your character is when playing online.

Button bashing outta pins is much better but having a choice for both. I may even buy this as I hate the previous timing pin system

The old pin option is still available it is just not available online which is the only game mode I like so I am pretty screwed either way

I think this takes the electricity out of the shock kick out while playing with friends. It's too easy to telegraph it now.

I prefer the button mashing system over the timed system. I feel it's more realistic in terms of kicking out of pins during the latter parts of the match. A wrestler shouldn't be able to kick out after the one count after receiving a finisher anyways. Just doesn't sell well in my books.
