I heard this gem on Sirius XM the other day. Brought back great memories of the Kink's early albums I played incessantly. What great rockers! They did not get enough airplay, attention or credit for their contribution to early R & R!

I distinctly remember that song playing on The Lloyd Thaxton Show and he had people lined up lipsyncing one by one. Would love to see that again. Sure wish he could've made a deal to release the shows before he died. He did try.

At the time the song was at #53 on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart, four weeks later it would peaked at #34 {for 1 week} and it spent 7 weeks on the Top 100...
Between 1964 and 1983 the quartet had twenty-four records on the Top 100 chart, five made the Top 10, "You Really Got Me" {#7 in 1964}, "All Day and All of the Night" {#7 in 1965}, "Tired of Waiting for You" {#6 in 1965}, "Lola" {#9 in 1970}, and "Come Dancing" {#6 in 1983}...
In their native United Kingdom they have had three records peak at #1 and also another three peak at #2...

Never heard this before but I love it! ... E from the Eels played it last night on 88.5 FM radio in his guest hosting duties Artist in Residence series . He always plays obscure, deep cuts or deep tracks in his sets.

When I first heard this song, I was instantly in love with it. I bought the 45 immediately. Today, I still like it, but not as much as then. The guitar work is very impressive.

The line who's going to be the next in line kept sticking in my head. I had to play it for a guy I was going out with how appropriate as he seems now to have moved on funny how the universe works. I pity the next woman who doesn't know anything about him. Who will be the next in line.
