GEAR REVIEW - Hilleberg Enan 1 Person Tent

Shop Hilleberg Below

Meet the Hilleberg Enan - an incredibly strong, 1-person, 3-season tent for backpacking and camping. Excellent in the wind, rain, and surprise snow flurries, the Enan is a tent you can TRUST in the backcountry.

I also rely on a Hilleberg one person tent (the Unna) and it is a joy to see others who are just as happy with it as I am. Cheers!

Great review, I have three Hilleberg tents now but the Enan is totally on my list. Especially now. Thanks.

It always makes me chuckle when i see people complain about a 1.2KG weight for a tent in the comments. I have both the Enan, Akto (stronger version and more winter proof) and the soulo - all of which have their uses and applications. The point being is you dont mess around with the one thing that can literally save your life. You can have a tent that weights 6 or 700 gram's, but on multi day events when you have zero concept of weather coming your way, then why would you worry over something that weight less than a nalgene bottle of water. Its pointless. I'd say start doing leg day and get fitter and priortise your shelter over every other bit of kit you can take.

I love mine. It’s absolutely brilliant.

I love my Enan too. Super fast pitching. Inner stays dry while pitching during heavy rain. And I have not experienced condesation on the inner tent, even though, it's not all mesh.

The floor material is 70D Triple Coated Polyurethane that will provide a lot of protection from abrasion/punctures. It's the same material used in the floor of the 4-season Akto although Hilleberg hasn't updated the specs on their website.
Put a stone or some other kind of support under the bottom of the fiberglass pole at the foot end of your Enan. Without some kind of support under the small fiberglass pole I've discovered it tends to sink into the ground especially if the ground is soft, if it's gusty windy all night, or gets soaking wet because of rainfall. The fiberglass pole sinks into the ground when there are strong gusty winds. And when the fiberglass pole sinks into the ground the outer tent loses tension.
Easy peasy fix. Put a small flat rock at the base of the fiberglass pole when you are pitching the tent.

Good review, loving my Enan too. Im from sweden and it was nice to hear you have been visiting! Would be awsome to visit the US some day, and maybe do some part of the pacific crest trail or something. Any tips?

When near the start. with a sweep of the hand, you declare ‘there’s the tent’ I think ‘what tent? I can’t see anything!’. Great camo for the desert.

Will a 25” rectangular sleeping pad fit in the Enan?

Hi, one question: as I know Enan has a mesh door without solid fabric. Is it cold inside in a strong wind? Is it enough to keep me warm to have just an external fabric?

Well average person can easily drop ten kilograms fat from their belly.
If ultraultralight tent weights 600grams and you add some 400grams by taking your Enan the weight is absolutely nothing to worry about just walk faster.
