Bach's Minuet in G minor, BWV Anh. 115, is a charming and graceful piece that is often included in beginner piano repertoires due to its relatively simple structure and elegant melodic lines. Although traditionally attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach, it is now believed to have been composed by Christian Petzold, a German composer and contemporary of Bach.

This minuet is one of the two famous minuets in the Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach, a collection of pieces that Bach compiled for his second wife. The piece is characterized by its lilting 3/4 time signature and its expressive use of minor tonality, which gives it a slightly melancholic yet refined character. Despite its simplicity, the Minuet in G minor offers a beautiful exploration of baroque ornamentation and counterpoint, making it a beloved piece for both students and teachers.

In contrast to the lively minuet in G major, the other one in G minor is calming, but not boring. It's as if a playful and loud child is talking to a gentle but serious mother 🎵❤🎶
