As much as we love this lifestyle and the ability to go whenever and do whatever...

...it does wear at you over time. Since January it feels like we’ve been go go go and it started to take more of a toll on us than we realized. Living in a vehicle comes with a lot of extra daily tasks and decisions that you typically can’t just ignore.

We appreciate and recognize the privilege we have to be able to turn off this lifestyle when we need to and take a break. AND for friends who have welcomed us to their town and home @The Adventure Addicts ☺️🫶🏼

Honestly it's nice to hear that some van life people feel this way. Packing up my life every day sounds exhausting.

You made the right decision. It is super important to recharge by being close to everything and relaxing, and not have to pack up and drive frequently.

Living in a small space is easy, imo. Living as a nomad in that small space is stressful. People who haven't done it, don't understand. A month or two at one spot with hookups, showers. A nearby grocery, etc is RELAXING. I even enjoyed my small space even more when there is a bit of permanency to it.

People underestimate how much a routine and stablity can do for mental health.

I so understand this!! I'm fulltime, off grid on a sailboat and it's a luxury to go to a marina and plug in. To not have to worry daily about solar, water, and the dozens of extra stresses. Enjoy existing from a home base. ❤

We learned early on that moving from a campsite every week was not for us. We found a farmer in Colorado who was renting space on his farm for vehicle storage. There were only 2 cars there. We saw that there was a secluded spot with a beautiful view of the sunrise and alfalfa fields. We asked him if he would consider letting us stay there and live for $300 a month. He was elated to have us stay. Since we made our camper off-grid, we never had to move at all. Spent the whole spring, summer and fall there. No neighbors, water and gas just down the street. It was wonderful. The farmer looks forward to us coming back next years. “You have not because you ask not”.

No matter how cute and functional you make a van, it's still a van. Great for a weekend get away but not so much for living.

Sounds like the best of both worlds. I think people are getting better about evolving and adapting to this crazy world. Blessings to you🙏🏼

One of wise old coworkers used to always say to me "who you trying to concvince, me or you?" And i feel this happily applies here. Good job 😀

Love this. Freedom to go wherever but also the stability of knowing you could temporarily switch to tiny house mode if you’re burnt out.

Two years of constant go is draining. Glad you're letting yourself really relax for a bit and recharge.

What I’m amazed by is that they haven’t choked each other yet from being in such close proximity 24/7 for years 😂❤
