Journey - Why Can't This Night Go On Forever (AOR Guitar Cover)

This was requested quite a lot over the years, and I must admit it wasn't one I would pick out to listen to on the album, and I would only hear it when listening to Raised On Radio in full. I now really like the song and it could be my favourite Steve Perry vocal. I love Neal's solos as they always have similar things about them in the sense that he finds a cool theme and sticks to it with little embellishments here and there. He's got killer vibrato too and that's something I'm always looking to improve on.

I found it a little tricky to get a tone that was clean enough for the verses but heavy enough for the solo. So in the end the verses are a little more distorted than I would like.

I've always loved how that song ends in the guitar solo. It's so melodic and builds up the song so well there was just obviously nowhere else the song needed to go after that!
