Naafiri says in this trailer one of the most badass line in the game : "Alone, I starved. But together, we feast"
It tells me Naafiri actually did try to avoid becoming a dog but realized she was too weak alone (probably because her soul was split into pieces because multiple dogs bite the dagger) and decided to become, not only a dog, but the entire pack.

I feel like the alpha dog is where the bulk of Naafiri's consciousness is. The rest of the pack clearly has Naafiri in them but most likely are being controlled in a hive mind kind of way.

I wouldn't be surprised if she couldn't just move her main consciousness to a different member of the pack if she needed to.

In the trailer multiple dogs pick up the dagger at the same time, the scene where naafiri bites the sun could mean that she is connected to the entire pack at once, that's why every dog lounges into her and form that blob of blades

I liked TBSkyen's interpretation that the experience of her mind being forcefully shattered into multiple bodies at the same time was very unpleasant and in denial of her non-humanoid form, but chose to "join the pack" rather than return to the dagger

I think Naafiri didn't want to become a pack of dogs, just like you said. That's why she's running from them.

But somewhere during the run she realized that her mind is just too weak to exist on its own. She has too much trauma. This is why Aatrox is crazy. He has nobody to lean on. But Naafiri got better when she accepted the pack of wolves inside her conciousness. She was able to overcome her trauma and think clearly because that pack of wolves helped her deal with it.

That's why Naafiri isn't going to destroy entire world in order to kill herself, like Aatrox. She just wants revenge on Shurima and she doesn't care about the rest of the world.

A nice detail at the very end when she growls, all the other hounds do the same motion at the same time solidifying the hive mind lore aspect.

This entire trailer packed so much character. The memories and trauma from her ascension, the war with Icathia, possibly the Darkin war. Her mind being split and shattered because multiple dogs took the weapon at the same time. Her hesitation to take over the pack clashing with her desire to break free from her prison. That scene in the labyrinth of her giving in to the pack. All culminating in her reaching the epiphany that she alone is weak but together with the pack in unity are more.

I'm curious what her personality really is now. She's a hivemind but is she a single entity controlling many or multiple minds connected as one?

I personally think that all Naafiri was going through in this moment of her life was not only her mind adapting to a complete new body than before (presuming her previous form was human), but also her own mind literally splitting into the whole hounds pack. This would also explain the whole aura of fear that was gathering up in the cinematic while she was running in that hall, just for it to end in her final pack form

This is late. But she actually enjoys the hound form, she revels in the hunt of the pack. I'm pretty sure she's one of the few Darkin who prefer their form.

The part where she starts running through the pillars, the shadowy dog sorta reminds me of Kindred Wolf since there was only one dog, and then you mentioned that she doesn't want to like die or get trapped but she ends up in the hands of the hounds instead, so maybe the original Naafiri didn't want to die, get chased by Wolf as it was his job to chase those who doesn't embrace death, gets turned into the dagger, and the hounds get ahold of her. That's my theory based on this trailer.

Pausing at 10:13, that statue kinda looks feminine to me @NecritTV

Didnt Aatrox destroy statues of Xolaani, could this be another statue of Xolaani that was destoryed? Or maybe one of Naafiri herself? Signifying her fall to darkin status during the war. Like the picture of the war was talking about the war specifically, but the statue was signifying that she specifically was one of the casualties.

Sorry kinda reacting as I watch the video:

At 11:36, (and I feel like he will probably figure this out as I watch more. But that view is from the human we saw at the beginning of the trailer. All of the images beforehand were Naafiri's memories flowing into this human, and now the human being fully corrupted is looking at the dagger and realizing it is empty, because Naafiri is now within the themselves.

Then of course the next parts shows the corrupted human trying to run away from the other dogs/Naafiri, and having their physical body transform into that of a hound as they do so.

Then the next scene of the dogs stabbing the singular hound (which is our former human) is symbolic of Naafiri winning complete control over the mortal.

Of course, this means that at the end Naafiri is talking at the end, she is directly addressing the mortal once she has taken over the body.
