Very curious to see your results, thanks and Happy New Year in advance.

They work but, noise antenna and its placement is key for Best results

Can this be used to eliminate 60hz power line interference?

I bought one in May 2021 but have not used it yet because I found the right spot to aim my Pixel 1B Pro loop and it nulled out the noise. I have not used my long wire in a while but I'll try it in Spring.
Have a Happy New Year Gilles!

How's this working out for you, Gilles? Thinking of getting one for he lower bands.

Just wondering why you did not wire it in and use it to see how it works?

The case for your box is different than mine, but I wonder if the insides are the same. Yours has a flip power switch and the power and PTT is combined and located on the front, mine has a push button with a ring light around the button, and the power is on the back and the PTT is a separate plug right above the power.

I found mine on Amazon (around $50-60), I looked around to find one that had the shortest delivery time and found one that delivered the next day.

With mine depending on where I am I have to set it up differently. At my mother's I use the MLA-30 as the main, and a YouLoop as the Aux/noise antenna as the telescopic antenna just doesn't work well enough (probably due to the fact at my mother's all the noise is coming from outside the building), at home if I use that same setup it will null the broadcast as well, so at home I can use the MLA-30 or the YouLoop as the main, but have to use the telescopic whip that came with the QRM Eliminator for the AUX/noise (probably because all the noise is coming from within the home or nearby). if I use the MLA-30 at home and use the telescopic antenna I have to locate the QRM Eliminator at a different location, or hook the telescopic antenna up to some coax and locate the antenna in a different location.

But with the loop being the main and the QRM Eliminator you can handle multiple noise sources. You can turn the loop to null one of the noise sources but have the highest signal to the broadcast, and use the QRM Eliminator to handle the other noise source.

But they can be pretty finicky.

I think the performance of the QRM eliminator has to do with how well you can isolate the noise on a separate antenna. It's not that the module does not work, it's just that you have not isolated the noise on a separate antenna well enough yet.

I have Timewave ANC 4, i tried lots of antennas small, big, EFHW, simple wire but nothing worked, i just tried a random loop covering front of my house, and it did work...doing some more tests these days

Hi Gilles. I have been busy lately and missed a few live shows. How is the ham license going?

I think these devices null in one direction limited to a little less than 180° steering of the null, you might experment with switching main and aux antenna connections to cast your null in the opposite direction. They cannot steer 360° The two gain controls result in the depth of the null, the phasing control steers the null. I believe that is why the MFJ 1026 has the phase inversion button.

Nobody seems to have any idea of adjusting these units mostly the instruction is to “mess with the knobs and see what happens”

Wimo in Germany 🇩🇪 also make a very nice version of this.

I’ve been seeing these more and more. I have never tried one but it seems like you would need to track down the loudest noise area around your home and place the short antenna really close to that.

interesting device, almost same form factor as the SI4732 radios

Try using some sort of antenna next to a wall wart. That might work.

The main thing about these, it having a good antenna, but only enough to pick up energy that is local. The goal is to phase the signal at 180 degrees to cancel it out at the receiver. Running a wire out a ways, then turn 90 degrees and go a ways, about 4 meters long. 2 meters out, turn 90 deg. remaining 2 meters. On a ceiling is great. Turn down the gain on the main antenna completely. Then turn up the gain on the Aux until you hear the noise in question. Then bring up the main gain to match, then use phase (slowly) to find the sweet spot.

Ok, the equipment seems to be functional but it would be better to see it in operation and how it performs. Happy New Year to you and all your radio listening friends.

As I understand it these are for man made noise like switching supplies and stuff. And require retuning when changing frequency.
Helps some people in extreme circumstances.
