When I think about how to get my MBA students to start using AI more intelligently and effectively going forward, this guy is my go to for the best talks on the best approaches. This is yet another excellent talk by Jeremy Utley.

This reminds me of the first time I sat down with an LLM user interface. I was confused, amazed, and perplexed all at the same time. I had a career in computers and software. "Garbage in. Garbage out." is an old wisdom in computing and software. I'm still figuring out how to use this incredible LLM and generative AI tools. The possibilities are endless. The human input is an infinite creative possibility with generative AI. Bring your own self, experience, values, and personality to the inputs.

My 79 year old brain is exploding. Thank you so much

This is a very eye-opening lecture on effective use of AI. I’m watching it 8 months after it was published on YouTube, meaning that AI has progressed even more. I used Gemini on my Android phone for the conversational exercise at the end of the lecture. What’s different now is that AI starts to respond before I’m finished. The good part is it starts asking questions, but the bad part is I couldn’t read the entire script before it interrupted me. Ultimately, it did produce a sample memo that I emailed to myself. My next step is to take this conversational approach to help me with a dip I’m experiencing as a YouTube content creator. I’m going to find your podcast, Dr. Utley, and learn more on how to harness better my imagination, which has dimmed in my later years. Thank you for this lecture and making it publicly available!

Wonderful! I am totally inspired, and I am already an AI user. Ironically, my big takeaway is that the reason I am so unhappy in my job is that it lacks creativity and innovation, and in my role almost everything I do could and should be done by AI, and I am a person in a C-suite level!

When Sparks Meet Circuits: The Firestarter’s Guide to Idea Flow in the Age of AI
(0:09–3:56)
Jeremy Utley storms the gates—idea flow meets generative firepower. You’re not a passive watcher anymore. You’re front row, first strike. This isn’t a lecture. It’s ignition.
(5:52–10:34)
Mindset is the battlefield. Adapt or combust. You’re either evolving with the tech or watching it outthink you in real time. Step forward or step aside.
(11:30–17:30)
Quality is a child of chaos. Drown your inner perfectionist. The more ideas you burn through, the brighter the one that sticks. Quantity is your kindling.
(21:28–23:50)
Volume. Variation. Velocity. AI doesn’t sleep. It doesn’t hesitate. It multiplies your madness—gives form to the formless. Lean in, let it erupt.
(28:45–42:06)
The Four Flames:
1. Speak it. Let your voice summon the storm.
2. Flip it. Make AI the interviewee.
3. Regenerate. Burn it down, build again.
4. Respond. Don’t freeze—counterfire.
(42:06–47:13)
Two truths to tattoo on your frontal lobe:
This tech is scripted—but it learns from you.
This ain't Siri—it’s a sorcerer waiting for your spell.
(50:04–59:41)
The mission? Ignite imagination. Don’t just use the tools—wield them like weapons. Light the fuse. Blow open your mind. This is not about mastering AI—
—it’s about unleashing you.
