I have an older version of this notebook. It uses a GTX 1050 4GB and an Intel i5 7300h. I used it for most of my college career and to play games like LOL, GTA V and the witcher 3. For new generation games, this is obviously not a good option. Another thing that bothers me today, as a graduate, is that I still use this notebook to work and it's a design that attracts a lot of attention, which can be dangerous depending on where you live. But, despite the regrets, it has been with me for 4 years and still meets a large part of my needs.

Medium settings is about what a ps4 does, so getting 1080p 60fps is right on par with the 8th gen consoles, and actually slightly better than the og Xbone.

I am still using HP Pavilion gaming since 2021. The same as yours parameters I5 9th Gen, GTX 1050 3 gb, ram 16 gb. The laptop has a very beautiful design, I use it for a work and game if necessary. I can also play games like Pubg or Warframes. If I need to get something more, I use the PS5 console. In the light of above, I think I will not change the laptop for another 2-3 years😊

I have a 4080 laptop now, but I still use my 1050 daily. Having a dedicated gpu puts it far above most of the modern apu productivity machines these days. Can’t really compete with snapdragon, but the price to performances speaks for itself. Just not really a gaming pc anymore.

Hey Sean, glad to see you're back mate, hope all is well (missed your vids but understand the absence), wish you a Merry Christmas. I HAD AN ACER NITRO 5, upgraded ram to 16GB, after a few weeks after plugging in power cable, short pop, system fried. Sorry to say that, Acer Nitro, was, for me, the worst product I've brought. Enjoyed that you were able to play AAA games on it but, unfortunately for me was a bit of a dud.

Did you overclock the GPU? I have the exact same laptop with the exact same specs and my GTX 1050 3GB is running at around 1700MHz.

Skyrim has a glitch where it runs at 57-59 fps you have to remove interval vsync in document ini file, then run 60 fps limit with riva tuner

6:03 ps4 comparable to 8gig rx 580... maybe it was the 4 gig model... usually back in the day when computer builder youtubers would talk about making a console killer the ps4 was an rx 580 equivalent system with a non bottlenecked gpu.
