Precure turned into Kingom Hearts in this episode.

Let me tell you, this season completely missed the opportunity to talk about the balance of good and evil. There should have been talk about how too much sweets is bad, just like how too much light will make one forget its importance or something like that. Ugh...How did they miss out on SUCH and easy theme to write around?!

This series was indeed weak. Although i did like the sweets they made. I am curious though, the pretty cure's power have been based off of so many different themes, such as sweets, flowers, music, princesses, card suits, etc. After the next pretty cure series (Huggto), what kind of theme should the pretty cure be based off of? Personally i feel a secret agent pretty cure created to protect the sources of magic that grant the past pretty cure their transformations would be cool, with a skunk fairy mascot who creates the pretty cure transformation gadgets through science (science fiction) rather than magic, could have an awesome twist backstory, having been made by the big bad in hopes to learn the locations of each pretty cures source of power in order to destroy them to nullify their ability to transform. In a way i feel like a pretty cure team like that could teach how to think before acting and could show that deus ex machina power ups arent needed to save the day since they wont have access to magical means of powers like past generation pretty cure.

But what do you think?

KiraKira could have been a very dark season if they actually put thought into it. The potential it had was wasted not even ep 49 can change that. If the Cures used kirakiraru like they did in this episodes fight (powering up punches and kicks) for the entire series, it would’ve been better. And if Chocolat used her sword much earlier, things would’ve been a little nicer. Ichika was a decent character, but served no purpose as leader. Pekorin was a terrible mascot and a horrible choice to be a last minute addition Cure. At least this is the only time we see this. Cure Pekorin wasn’t in the seasons movie, which means, she’s not a permanent member. Bibury should’ve gotten that position. Pikario is a male, he cannot become a PreCure, however, he should’ve gotten powers similar to Milky Rose. A Cure who doesn’t have the label of Pretty Cure. There was never an explanation for why there’s an animal motif (or was there? I don’t remember). Noir was a decent villain, but the writers (again) put minimal thought into it because parents would’ve complained. Kids like action, let there be action. All kids shows can be dark, and have serious tones. This season could’ve been a tremendous one, but the timing was slow, the characters weren’t fleshed out properly even though almost the entire series revolved around character development, the fight scenes were awful, and the plot was revealed way too late in the season. There are a lot more flaws, but for what it’s worth, it was a very decent installment and tried its best.

The redeeming quality was that the movie actually revolves someone (ciel) other than the leader (ichika). Most other PreCure movies cater to the Leader.

I think Kira Kira PreCure À La Mode should've been it's own series, then the plot could've been done better, along with the fights since the parents complained about PreCure having fist fights.

Holy crap, I want that MHA shirt! AzenZone, hook me up! Oh yeah, Kirakira Precure. Well, time to wrap up. Let's be honest, the only highlight in this episode was the fact the girls actually threw a damn punch and kick in this episode. (About time, even though it took them 48 godforsaken episodes) The concept of light vs darkness feels like the creators finished playing a Kingdom Hearts game and included into this season in an attempt to make things more meaningful and have a secondary theme, despite the fact it has nothing to do with it's main theme (Sweets). And although Elyiso's idle was deep, as someone pointed out in another Kirakira video, it's ultimately hampered by the fact his original self, Noir, will go down as a laughing stock among all Pretty Cure main villains in the franchise because he nearly destroyed an entire darn planet just because he couldn't have a cupcake. I don't hate Kirakira Precure since I seen worse in animation and fiction as a whole but when every time I remind myself of prior Pretty Cure installments, especially my personal favorites, it's flaws are so blatant.

Seriously, is this supposed to be the final when I thought Mahoutsukai's final was meh and short, I take it back it was epic compare to this thing.
This final felt lazy like the writers didn't even try to do something, while Mahoutsukai at least give us a real fight. I tried to defense on Kirakira but slowly I start to lost my interest on the show. KiraKira has cute and interesting characters despite the boring plot and fights. but the show went down in the second half -_-

I guess the next episode will be another random final to introduce Cure Yell

Kira Kira Precure had a terrible climax. I like the girls but this series is really weak.

The ONLY good thing of this episode but sadly wasted or done too late:

-an ACTUAL fight scene to watch (THANK GOD!)
-Elysio's motives (...why didnt he just ditch his p***y of a master and be done with it on his own terms sooner...MUCH sooner =3=)

The bad: ...everything in this episode (but at least its not as rage inducing as the previous one but still bad). even the "sakuga scene" is ruined cause of Whip and Pekorin's "wishes". Plus, everything with the whole Kirakiraru is nothing more than just power created just cause...you know "for plot"

Wow, you just made into the Hero's Academy? Cool. Anyway yeah, this episode is like every single idea they have and just mix it up in this episode, like making a cake except they mix it up with almost everything and that became a huge mess. I hope Hugtto's involvement next episode won't ruin them.

This episode was better than I expected, not really all that good considering the things that you mentioned, but the sakuga was good (I guess the producers stopped caring about limiting the CQC, since Hugtto is around the corner, so the animators went all-out), Elisio's backstory made his character and dystopia plot reasonable (even if it's too late now), the girls remaking the entire earth with sweets was amusing.

KiraKira wasn't the best season ever, in fact, I only would put it above Max Heart (I really dislike this one for a number of reasons, but don't mix it with the original FW, I like this one), I hope Hugtto turn the tables and become a season that's reference with the name Precure, a season that people will be eager to put in their top 5 precure seasons list.

Now that kirakira is done. I have one huge question.

You have talked about the growing and development of the characters and seting. But i have one question

What do you think about Yukari and Akira's relationship.

Now lets pretend that they ARE dating. Were do they stand?

Would their realtionship would be one that last until the grave? Or last just a year or a on-and-of-again relationship?

As you said Yukari just goes around instead of staying devoted to something.

And what would Akira do in that sperpective. As we seen she has the bad habit of putting other on a pedestal and herself at the bottom of the barrel

And would Akira's simple love become an anchor for yukari's wondering nature?

I'm glad this is almost over.

There was good stuff, but yeah it is just lost in the shuffle. If not for these videos I would have completely ignored this show.

It took me a while, but I think I found an appropriate punishment for these Kira Kira girls:

Have them serve an all-you-can-eat the girls of Yes Pretty Cure 5!!!
After that, they will rue the day they first picked up a wisk.

Wow, I tuned out a lot more of the episode than I thought. I think I got most of the "good" out of it, though.
I've thought that people have been overly harsh about this series but looking back, maybe I've just become too tolerant about it. My expectations for the show dropped way too low even before halfway through it.
Strangely enough, it wasn't a terrible viewing experience. It was fun laughing at the stupid stuff, regardless of creator intent. And, the show had enough interesting ideas to think about whenever things slow down.

I wonder why Crunchyroll pick up Kira Kira over like Heartcatch or Yes 5?
