One thing to note is the SAG AFTRA strikes are NOT boycotts. it’s important to not incorrectly call these boycotts because it ends up undermining actual targeted boycott efforts. from their FAQ which I can’t link bc it deletes my comment:
“Are creators and streamers being asked to stop playing certain video games?

The only situation in which streaming a struck video game would be in violation of our strike order is if you had rendered services as a performer in that struck game. Otherwise, we are not asking you to stop playing/streaming video games. In fact the opposite! Please continue doing what you love, and any support and solidarity would be extremely appreciated!”

They would rather creators be using the relevant hashtags and be telling their viewers the other stuff you did in this video :)

This is on their video game strike FAQ!

agree with everything else this video said!

No video game should ever cost $1, 365 to get the “fullest experience possible”….. ever

"Bloated" is the perfect way to describe Sims 4.

It bothers me when simmers get mad when anyone says anything negative about the game. We don't criticize the game because we hate it, we criticize it because we know they can do better

My initial reasoning for buying packs for specific gameplay was because I figured anything official would run better than mods, the reality is that the mods run better than official game packs it’s crazy

We should normalise not having every single pack (for creators too).

For Rent is City Living 2.0. This upcoming pack is Get To Work 2.0.

I thought everyone was gonna stop buying packs after the My Wedding Story disaster

In the Sims 3 cats, dogs, and horses were all in the same pack. Werewolves, vampires, fairies, and witches were all in the same pack. Generations had all the growing up and family life stuff. World Adventures had all the, well, adventures around the world. While yes, splitting up packs from the Sims 3 (and probably other games but I don't know I started with 3) into multiple packs encourages them to put more content into individual aspects (for example having individual worlds with lore and even full skill trees for werewolves, vampires, and spellcasters), the packa have gotten significantly more expensive (as have games in general). If these individual packs were all around the price of an expansion pack for past games, I wouldn't even be mad. Some of these packs that are really splinters of past packs do actually have about the same amount of content. For example, Realm of Magic, I feel, has a pretty decent amount of content for focusing on one supernatural/occult type. And while I haven't played it extensively, it seems to me like there's probably a bit more to do with them than with witches in 3. But it was like $30-$40. And then there's stuff like University Life that's literally just the same concept as 3's University. And now they're basically just repeating packs they already made (as many others pointed out with For Rent and now with Businesses and Hobbies). And as a fellow DnD lover, I'm really sick of having to spend hundreds of dollars for a game's full content. At least with DnD you don't need to play exclusively on a computer to add features you want, and can share your resources. And there's literally infinite content since it's all up to your imagination

Piracy is morally right whenever EA is involved

Honestly, I think every single opinion or "complaint" you have about the game and company are valid. Don't listen to 'em, you're allowed to play a game and have things you dislike!

Why are people defending a company that sells broken products? I don't get it. EA have destroyed the Sims franchise and made huge amounts of money whilst doing so. That's not ok.

Honestly, with the insane number of dlc the Sims 4 has by this point, it's unreasonable to expect anyone, including content creators, to own every single one. Like, that adds up to over a thousand dollars by this point. You shouldn't need any more justification for not buying something other than "I'm not interested" (that being said, I do totally agree that we should try to avoid giving EA any more money, whether that's through sailing the high seas or buying physical games second hand when possible.)

I havent bought any in years 🏴‍☠️ The decline in quality is PAINFUL and I'm really glad youre being so open about this. Hopefully other simmers follow suit

Edit: Yall its insane that this game has $1400+ of dlc. Especially when the majority of it should either be base game or condensed into less packs. Stop giving EA your money lmao

Honestly the toxic positivity is so crazy in the sims 4 community.
Sim 4 basically trained a bunch feral dogs who will attack anything that doesn't kiss it ass.
I think basically the reason there not making sims 5 is they have trained feral dogs and they don't want have to start over
