Thanks a lot for covering this! A quick correction, this initiative in its current form won't cover all digital goods, we're trying restrict the scope to increase its odds of passing. However, it's entirely possible the EU may see it fit to expand its scope if it made it to the commission. I encourage everyone in the EU to sign it and get others if possible!

Saluting all EU bros who sign, you're helping improve the industry and take power away from slimy corporations and publishers.

Yeah, this is something i can get behind for the EU to solve the arrogant practices of gaming publishers shutting down games.

Europe also needs to introduce a preservation library on European scale for video games.

While Warcraft 3 got sniveled I asked for my money back. They denied it citing that their policy is to not compensate if you have played for x amount of hours. I hit them back citing E.U law for any electronic merchandise (such as games) you can ask for money back after x amount of time regardless of the state of the merchandise without citing a reason for the money back.

I got my money back

As a game developer myself, it's nice to see EUMS cover (the) gaming (industry). :)

We've reached the threshold for one country, Finland. Sweden is less than a percentage away to the same so in possibly a couple of hours from writing this we have two countries that has reached to target. Denmark's close with 85%.

Already done it, sent it even around my friends and made a video about it so we reach more people. Let's go!

It's so insane that we have to rely on the EU since seemingly so much of the world has so little consumer protection, but regardless, I'm glad there's something that can be done at all! Thanks for covering this! The more people that know about this, the better.

its sad that politicians have to take action about these things and not the manufacturers themselves

If this petition will still be ongoing when I become 18 at the end of this year, I'll instantly sign it

It's practically the subscription model for a purchased product. That's why everyone should care.

I signed it on the first day! It is not great petition. But it is the best we got. I am sure lawmakers will work out the kinks. Go sign it right now!

I had already signed up the petition. Thanks for bringing more attention to it.
I kinda feel bad for Larian studios even showing up in the same frame as Ubisoft though

The government needs to step in to regulate big corporations from destroying people's games.
