This is exactly what I thought, too!! The Indoraptor never came across to me as a villain. Just an animal, trying to understand what he is, and the way I saw it, if he was given the chance, he would not have been so hostile.

Would the Indoraptor seem tame if everyone didn't try to kill him?

I think that he’s misunderstood, take it from the Indominus Rex

Ripper isn't really a "good guy." More like an abused anti hero who was forced to become a villain to get revenge on the humans who mistreated him.

Poor Indoraptor...

Is it bad that I think he's adorable?

Some of the things mentioned in the video make sense. Or seem to make sense. I'm really just wondering why Ripper, almost obsessively, chased after Maisie so much. It treated Blue as garbage distraction, didn't attempt to really kill and/or eat Owen or Claire....it just really, REALLY wanted to get at Maisie. I get that things trigger Ripper into being a vicious killing machine, however, once Maisie is on screen, all Ripper focused on was getting to her. Why was that?

The Indoraptor was my favorite character in the entire movie. Like, he had just SO much personality and was a very playful creature.

I think this theory is interesting because I like to think back to our first introduction of him. When Massie gets too close to the cage and his claws peak out and instead of slicing her...he bats her ponytail. How she screamed than he reacted.

More than that when they are in the mansion, he's running around and kills everyone before her! Anyone with a gun he'll attack without hesitation but when he's after Massie and the gang...there's a bit of a lag with him. He'll slow down. He's savoring the moment... and I almost recognized immediately what he was doing, ESPECIALLY after his interactions with Ken in the cage.

He's playing. From the moment we see him until gwen puts the lazer on Owen, he's just having fun. Experimenting what he can do (as this is the first time out of his cage), testing his limits and abilities (smelling, tracking, that little toe tapping to use sound to hunt may also be him stimming with excitement), heck even when he falls over after being "tranquilized, " he does it SO dramatically!

Massie I think he sees somewhere between a playmate, and a toy. Because he is hesitant to full on kill her as that will ruin the game, especially when she's still. But like you said he is an animal, and I think his killer instincts kicks in when she runs away. I think there is a joy he's having in seeing her scream but if she DID stay still after he cornered her in the bed and started crying instead of screaming or hiding and running... maybe his reaction would surprise us. There is a (very minute) chance he might stop having fun and emphasize with the sadness. As even predators sometimes feel guilt/ sadness when they make a kill. Though it's very rare. (the best example I can think of is a leopard who killed a monkey or baboon, and found out it had a baby on them and stayed with the baby all night and mourned when it died because it couldn't feed without the mother she killed.)

At the very least it would have been a VERY interesting angle to take the film. More so than we got. Especially if we learned Ripper genuinely liked Massie. Since Raptors do have the brain capacity to make these emotional connections.

Why did he die I was sad at the end. On a completely different note indoraptor as a baby that would be so cute fierce and adorable!!

For Ripper, it was Nature vs Nurture... he was definitely curious about vulnerability. Unfortunately though, he probably would not’ve known much about comfort, seeing as all he was raised for was to hunt and attack. Ripper was like a dog chasing cars, like when he chased Mazie. He probably wouldn’t have known what to do with her once he caught her.

Ripper?Other than that interesting name even though the indoraptor was a prototype I still felt like it had a reason behind its actions instead of being a mindless killing machine

The Indoraptor could very well have been more tame than we ever thought. I also feel like the Indoraptor actually just wanted to socialise but because of others being aggressive to it and screaming the Indoraptor never got the chance to.

With all that Ripper has gone through, noise and aggression is what triggers him the most. Every time someone screamed or showed hostility in some way, like in the form of a shout, a gun, bad ego, Ripper was triggered to hunt it down to end it.

Honestly, if Ripper was in the real world, his treatment in that lab would've been more than the level of animal abuse, which truly sucks in our world. I can agree that when Ripper is not in kill mode, he is very curious... however, being designed via Wu, Ripper could hardly display any form of comfort [reason why he slowly outstretched his arm to Maisie] just as the reddit post stated.

Also, I'm wondering what Ripper's diet was before the events of Fallen Kingdom... because like all animals, even genetically modified, they have to grow and satisfy their bodily needs.

Maybe the Indoraptor possibly has the same personality as Blue. They were both "comforting" their "imprinters" when they were showing weakness. If Maisie did talk to him gently, maybe they could've achieved the same relationship that Owen and Blue have.

Ripper did the same claw scene to Maisie when she was trying to hide from Mr Mills when ripper was in the cage. Maybe ripper was trying to comfort Maisie because she was panicked and hyperventilating but then she screamed and provoked ripper causing her to react and scare maisie.

I gotta say:The scenes where he reached towards Maisie(the first cage before the auction thing, and the bedroom), a friend and I think it wasn't out of agression...It was probably out of curiousity.

When ripper is attacking it's my old dog when my other dogs bother her. My dog is secretly ripper in disguise.

Question 1: In the movie, why Ripper (Indoraptor) didn't communicate with Blue if Ripper is part raptor?

Question 2: When Ripper died in the end of the movie, what happened to Ripper's body?
