Season 4 BALANCE TUNING is Here! - THEY CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT

Blizzard has announced the Balance Tuning happening in Season 4, unfortunately
it will be scarce and of little impact.
Even worse, the already announced 2 Specs receiving Nerfs, Destruction
and Survival, likely have not received enough of a Nerf to make them
lose ranks in the META of Season 4 and will likely still be the to-go
picks in the next Patch.

Also, according to Max from Liquid, this whole patches tuning was done by two devs that could spare from DF development. Which actually makes the tuning that did happen kind of impressive.

Survival changes are hardly enough to push it out of the meta imo. Especially with the new dungeon pool, they are gonna notice the nerfs only in Gambit and Lower Kara. I think they are gonna still be the Lust class. WW goes without saying that it will still be meta. And with BDK and Holy still being the tank/healer combo, the primary PI target will most likely still be the warlock, either Destro in High keys where packs stay alive long enough for them to have Inferno for every pack, or Demo. Overall im really disappointed that nothing is gonna change really. I might be wrong ofc, and specs like Outlaw/Sub and fury Warrior will push ahead with the Veinrippers/EoNs and Gavel/Jaithys combos being overpowered.

The issue is that destruction loses its consistent dps, that was the best part of both destro and surv, they didnt depend on cooldowns to do decent dps. and with wo missing skipping with rogue is going to gain a lot of value. Blood and holy priest are unchanged so those are locked in, WW isnt really nerfed so thats in, outlaw brings skip consistent aoe damage and decent ST and both these specs gain a lot of gear. So whats your last option? well you need a hero so that limits it but you also need a good pi target, aka fire mage. which currently is a flex pick as a 3rd choice pre-changes and isnt getting nerfed and is getting bracers. You might see a switch to a restro shaman which i think could bring destro/surv back but i dont think destro will be meta outside of some season 2 mdi strat where you do 1/3rd+ of the trash in a single pull.

Survival + destro getting nerfed AND shadow getting buffed at the same time will result in a more than 10% increase in relative dps, that's for sure. There are a few notable areas that make survival and destro top DPS charts, and it's mostly the uncapped AOE. SP is also uncapped, but not at the same rate. Capping major abilities for those two and at the same time buffing the uncapped Mind Sear, Searing Nightmare and Shadow Crash for SP will have a pretty large impact. Don't forget that SP is already great in the single target/boss fights, too.

Great video and I have to agree. The meta is super stale. Just more of the same. It’s the end of the xpac if they refuse to nerf the top specs just buff the heck out of everything else and let this season be fun for everyone.

Pls Pls Pls change Meat Cleaver for Fury warriors to be an 8 target soft cap... Or at least a 5 target soft cap rather than this 5 target HARD CAP we've had to deal with for the last 10 years...

ww monk 43% spining crane kick on you logs x 0.05% its 2.15% + bdb :) so 2.5% for sure. Was hoping for MM buff single target. SV dont get me wrong its fun but 1 season for me its enough :)

i saw those warrior changes and i was like ... this must be big .. Im glad you confirmed as a tank main who is not DK enjoyer ... I think my warrior will see some play season 4 :) kinda hyped ... but my plans for this season is to hit 2500 and stop playing because i have some personal stuff i have to deal with so i guess im not really affected by the top meta minmaxing that is going at 3K and beyond :P

honestly i was hoping survival and destro would get nerfed to the ground but looking at the tunings it looks like they're still so powerful that they'll still be S tier or at least A tier. i agree, not much will shake up in Season 4 and will be exactly like season 3 if you're planning on your main.

I think they want try new way of balancing instead of nerfing the top dps maybe they will buff the other dps specs. I think they will make another blue post sibce the resent blue post says there will be another balance tuning for specs.

Random note. Spriest buffs were in response to feedback Blizz got regarding Dragonflight spriest talents and the spriest communities frustration with searing nightmare feeling bad.

Will be interesting to see how the shadow air rotation is remade :)

in your log spinning crane kick is 22% from ww 10, 6 and 10, 4 % from earth and fire and its a big part of the bonedust brew dmg beeing a% cpoy of your dmg abilitys so its around 50% of your dmg spin to win in the log you had in the vid not 25

its not a complain @ all i think the nerv is fine for ww but it should total out in the 3% range overall not only 1 :D
