I have the 30” big brother to this. Hand little machine. I also picked up a 24” shop fox box pan brake. This really helps for bending past 90 degrees.

I got one of these a while ago, the large one that will take about 1200mm across the shear. So it will cut a full sheet width.
I am working with aluminium and found the fingers too sharp, they tended to cause cracks at the bend because of the sharp end.
I recently have seen several videos of guys making custom press dies with 3d printing.
I have just finished making a set of 3mm radius slip covers for my metal fingers in plasic 3D print PLA.
They work great.
I can now produce the correct radius when bending the 6061-T6 aluminium I am using.
I have also made a set of slip covers with 3mm radius for my pan brake. It also had sharp corners. OK of steel but no good for aluminium.

Nice tip with the wood ! Never thought of that! I need to take all those segments out and make sure they are all the same length, i’m pretty sure mine are not .
One other mod i did was to put bigger washers on the bolts that hold the blade in place as the washers they used did nothing and the retaining bolt for the top roller, i put a tee bolt so i could nip it up by hand as i found it kept swinging to the open position which means the roller can lift up . I noticed you also ditched the stupid spring loaded hold down bar !

Thanks, Mate - could these be used for tube steel rolling & forming - say 1, 2 or 3inch tube?
