If Sam was alive today he would be appalled at the way the associates are treated by his company. He flew his own plane and visited stores wearing jeans and a baseball cap.
He was an incredible human being but Walmart today is operated by individuals who couldn't care less about their employees.

He would be heartbroken at what it’s become.

I was honored to meet him back in 1990, I was young and placed as the door greeter, instead of my usual checking…he walked in looked like a humble old man in faded jeans, tennis shoes and wearing a cap…he spoke to me for about 5 minutes asking about me and how I was treated working there, as he shook my hand he wouldn’t let it go, so very gracious, I was so honored to meet him…he had flown his Cessna plane and just popped into the small town Walmart like he was known to do🙏 later in the years I was a teacher and would tell my students about him, being so humble not looking or acting like the billionaire that he was…

The first step to successful investing is figuring
out your goals and risk tolerance - either on your own or with the help of a Financial Advisor. If you can get the facts about savings and investing with a well detailed plan, you should be able to gain financial security over the years and enjoy the benefits of managing your income.

I used to be an assistant manager at Walmart and Sam's Club. The company has absolutely no idea what is going on or how to treat their employees. All these store managers are horrible and the greed is unreal in these places. Employees are treated like garbage and favoritism runs rampant across all stores. It's truly unreal how horrible it's become from it's origin.

Walmart went down badly when Sam passed away because he always wanted USA goods in his stores.

My mother worked for Wal-Mart when Sam was in charge. He knew there were a lot of M&P businesses just barely there, with no future in the long view. He sent small teams into towns where there was going to be a new store. They would go around to the small businesses in the 2 or 3 months before Wal-Mart opened and explain that they needed to change the way they operated in the Wal-Mart world. Walmart is a discount retailer with a massive supplier base. They typically do not go beyond what will turn fairly quickly. She went into bicycle shops and explained their 100.00 bikes were going to be 75.00 bikes in short order, but Wal-Mart was not going to get very much above that line, so, they could move to a higher line of bikes, like a 200.00 bike, and WM would not be in that market. One bike seller took them at their word, and dropped the 100.00 bike, when Wal-Mart opened, but offered to assemble a Wal-Mart bike in their shop for 5.00. They sold lights, horns, fancy addons, and the kids knew they had a layaway plan for 2, 3, and 400.00 bikes. When the basic bikes were no longer good enough, they knew where to go. The bike shop flourished, the guys at Wal-Mart referred parents to the shop when they needed repair. That particular shop outgrew their little shop and added expensive bikes to their line. Walmart still sells basic bikes, that shop still assembles them and they have a 5.00 assembly fee, BUT, if the family buys stuff for the bike, they can use the 5.00 as a gift coupon on the purchase. That bike shop is still in business, but he stocks 500.00 and up bikes along with his 200.00 ones now. Not everyone did this, and fought them on their own turf, they all failed who did not change some of their ways.
