Arm on the Server Explained - Amazon's A1 Graviton Processor Is a Once in a Decade Opportunity!

A once in a decade opportunity?
ARM has the potential to revolutionise the world of servers that power our websites and apps, the same way it has revolutionised our mobile devices.
Hopefully this helps explain why I’m so excited about ARM CPUs on the server and gives you a bit of background.
Basically I see a great opportunities for disruption in the server space. Running and designing software for ARM is a different challenge, and it's one that we've been working on for a long time. This is because we're experts in horizontal scaling of software, and this scalability is exactly what suits ARM. Arm is currently 40-45% cheaper but we think the potential is a 60% saving in energy usage. We think Amazon is currently only passing on some of the savings to it's users of the A1 instance types, using Graviton Processors
