So, you want to start a conversation with someone. How do you do it? Use these 3 magic words and they'll be instantly engaged.

Want to meet new people? Want to make a connection at a business conference? Want to say hi to someone in the park?

These 3 words help you open a conversation... every single time.

More specifically, here's what I cover:

I'll walk you through how you can walk up to anyone, start a conversation, and keep that conversation going.

Just by how you introduce yourself. Now I know this might seem weird. Because this isn't pick up advice or dating advice.

This is just networking advice. This is for someone who's going to a networking event. Who's going to a conference. Someone who is going to be in a position to meet someone they don't know and want to strike up a conversation with that person.

I do a ton of networking and I've used this intro or something similar for years. I never thought of it as a tactic, but rather a natural way to say hello. I think what I actually say is "How's it going?" but same difference lol. So Derek, I 100% agree with you. Thanks for the video.

This is the best advice I've heard of for networking in a long time. While 'what's up' isn't something I'd be comfortable using with everyone, it could still be something along those lines. I often just say hey, followed by how they're liking the event / conference so far. That works too.

Here's my problem. Maybe you can make a video to solve it. I walk up to a group of people who are all talking I stand there and wait for a break in the conversation to introduce myself or say something but there's never a break in the conversation. It's like trying to break into a conversation of the people on The View. They're all talking at the same time it's almost if you have to say shut up before you can say anything.

I like to go for the “How ya doing” or “What’s up man” depending on the situation. If the person is around my age I’ll go for the latter, if it’s someone I respect or older I’ll go for the how ya doin?

The word wazz up? does not work in all country. Maybe US/London, yes it may work. Think if you are taking to a elder/older business men and say Hi, wazz up? He will go two steps back. But the point you are making is right. We should make the other person think before they react.
