The NX at LAST has a confirmed release date from Nintendo! Not only that, but Zelda Wii U will now be launching on both the Wii U and NX simultaneously, but naturally that means the game has been delayed further. Alex has the details, and this time he doesn't have to repeat himself.

Thumbs up for Alex, thumbs down for the actual news.

It's not that the game is delayed that pisses me off, it's the fact they announced it so early on and have given little to no information on it for almost 2 years. Companies should stop teasing their games way before they are finished. When Bethesda announced Fallout 4, they did it perfectly. They announced it the same year it came out. I just wish more companies did that. Because I've honestly lost so much hype for the new Zelda title due to how much time has passed.

Much sooner than I thought. I know rumors were rampant on the NX coming 2016, but with only Nintendo's mention of *reveal* in 2016 and that *reveal* not happening in the first two months, it would seem 2017 was always their pace.

Where I'm surprised is March. ....would have thought for sure they'd utilize Holiday 2017 as their launch window.

All that said, where I'm a bit annoyed is the news of Zelda U. I don't mind cross platform release, but _if_ the game will be done(and perhaps it won't) then give it to the U owners Holiday 2016!

I was with you on the possibility of Zelda not getting a cross-system launch. What a lot of the people saying that was "obvious" overlooked was the reasoning behind Twilight Princess' situation in the first place: They made a Wii version of TP because the new remote/nunchuck scheme inspired them to make that second version. It wasn't merely because a new console was coming or that Gamecube was on its last legs.

That said, this development means a new console launching is now all the reason Nintendo needs to do a cross-generation game launch anymore.

I am genuinely sad that they are releasing it on both systems. I got a Wii U for Zelda. This isn't like how Twilight Princess Released on both Gamecube and Wii because at the time, the Gamecube had Wind Waker for a long time prior. This is the only new Zelda Game on Wii U (ignoring hyrule warriors, of which is now on 3DS) but now anyone will be able to get it on the NX instead. Bad move Nintendo.

Like when you look at another direction and Nintendo has already delayed Zelda U and gives a release date for the NX. Like what the frick.

Imagine if Zelda were the only game at all at E3. Yes, at all.

They only do that so Zelda U can be simultaneously on NX.

I was kinda disappointed the way they announced the release window. But I guess they don't consider it very important.

man.. that's a real bummer that the NX won't be at E3. people might give up on it.

I'm actually fine with the NX and Zelda release date, for several reasons: Gives me more then enough time to save up money for the console and game, and whenever Nintendo pushes a release date back, they're wanting to make the game better - which I'm still totally fine with.

The delay/"Twilight Princess treatment" is fucking frustrating, albeit understandable. It still feels like a slap in the face for those who've been waiting since its proper announcement years ago.

It's gonna be a handheld.. They usually release handheld consoles around March to May

At least we have news on it, instead of staying quiet.

Thank You. You reported this is a much more adult fashion than Gamexplain did. They are still grumpy that their predictions, hype and spreaded rumors aren't happening as they wish.

which console do u think the new zelda will have the "best" version? AND btw dosen't that mean that the new NX will have a "game pad" in some sort cus they did say that zelda wii u DO NEED the gamepad, or mabye u can take the wii u gamepad and use it on the nx.

No it isn't exiting at all. Zelda U was the selling point for many people that bought Wii U at launch and now it will be the selling point for the NX.

We'll see more this e3. I think that Wii U users that bought Wii U during launch should get a consolation because they have to wait so long for Zelda U that gets pushed back further and further. Something similar to the 3ds "Ambassador program".

Making it so you get Zelda U both on Wii U and NX is not sufficient. Nintendo you have really disappointed me this time.

I have the feeling they HAVE to mention the NX because if the main focus will be on Zelda U/NX, then they'll talk about things like combat, characters, setting, and im guessing that the NX will be different than Wii U so.. getting my point? :o

2017 release date? That's a whopping 7 years of development for a Zelda title, nearly twice as long as Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess. I have confidence that the game is going to be good, and I have confidence that I'm going to enjoy this Zelda game more than any other Zelda game that has come out, but I'm really fed up with Nintendo doing so little over the Wii U lifespan. This is exactly what happens when you don't promise to develop games at the beginning of a consoles lifespan. Nintendo hasn't had much to show last year, and now they aren't going to have hardly anything to show this year.

I sort of have a feeling that the Fire Emblem mobile game is gonna be a puzzle/CandyCrush clone game. The mort you swap the little puzzle pieces thingies, the more damage you do.
