So much for ontario protecting the privacy and security of their citizens. Disappointed!

The timing of this ransomware attack seems wonky to me. Nice way to get the peoples personal information.

No one chases scammers either...but donate against your ideology and boom they find you!!!

They probably spent more on those fancy logos than on cybersecurity

Sure let’s go for digital IDs next , the federal government is just so competent .

I'm no expert but doesn't this all start with staff opening phishing emails or infected attachments?

This is why no one should have access to your private information. The hospital doesnt need more then your healthcare number nothing else.Businesses especially should not your info they just sell it anyways

The IT provider should be sued. This is priviledged information and there should be protected and backed up constantly.

Still dont understand why companies like this arent required to keep an off the grid server for personal information.

I'm sure they don't have to look far for the culprit, too easy to figure this one out

I was notified several years ago that my data was breached at a different hospital in Ontario and i should keep an eye on my bank accounts. The best part is they were investigating for almost a year by the time they contacted me. So try to remember if you spent $143.25 at Walmart 9 months ago. We should have been notified immediately.

Mask mandates inside Canadian hospitals are supposed to prevent electronic data breaches. Were criminals not informed?

Leave it to the govt to contract out private data. And most likely to the lowest bidder.
