I had the best experience at a Rolex store yesterday. This "unavailability game" is a total scam and the sales people are forced to play this game. The watches in the store are for "display only". I told the sales woman I needed to buy their 65K gold watch today and she said she'd have to put me on the list, but was assuring me I would get it very quickly. I told her cash today or I'm leaving and she was in so much pain as she was scared to lose her job if she were to sell it to me right then and there, but they are forcing to tell clients these watches are unavailable, which is a complete lie. That sales associate almost had a nervous breakdown when I was walking out of the store. Fuck Rolex!

Not sure how you can get a Rolex from S.Korea when you need to book an appointment at midnight of the last day of the month to even get your foot in the door. There is no such thing as a relationship with the AD with Rolex Korea unless you are a top client who has been buying from them for ages.

Any advice? I’ve been on the “waitlist” for a Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 mm Green for approaching a year now, super frustrating. I don’t have a purchasing history at my local route Rolex boutique however, I do have my A.D.‘s contact information and we’ve had many wonderful long conversations. I feel like I displayed myself as a decent human being. Lol hopefully that’s enough.

Roman as usual shares fantastic advice. One other point to drive home is instead of buying watches you don't want to build spend history, shop for other brands like Omega and buy these brands on the gray market at steep(er) discounts. Then apply these savings against buying a Rolex you want on the gray market. In essence what you pay over RRP is much smaller then spending tens of thousands of dollars to buy a Rolex at your Rolex museum, I mean AD!

If you’re a good person, but perhaps not the warmest person or not great at making friends with strangers, take along someone who is good at that. Especially if that someone is a wife or girlfriend.
