The loft bedroom/office didn't work bc you didn't raise the shelves for the "floor" from the basement. That's why you need a basement, so the shelves don't block the bed and the office under it lol every step in these hacks has a reason behind it :)

For the one with the basement shelves I’ve made improvements in a new video, so you don’t have to do the basement stuff, you can use half tile kitchen cabinets so sims can still access the bed, I’ve learnt a lot since posting that video to make it easier for people! It’s the shelves that are stopping it being functional that’s why I put them in the basement but with the half tile kitchen cabinets you don’t have to (you do need to use the tall wall height though so you can’t see them through the archway)

Edit: by the way I love these videos! Really helps me see where people are struggling to improve on future tutorials!

The sand terrain paint actually works in base game. You need Island Living specifically to build and knock down sand sculptures. But the "play in sand" and "draw in sand" options are there in just the base game ^_^

1:48 "a soft overlay of grass". Completely covers the sand.

I'm definitely gonna use the sandcastle feature! So awesome - thanks for sharing. Also, when I make bathrooms with windows/glass dividers, I usually make the shower a "room" and bring it down by one platform level, then just remove the walls after. This is so that Sims have to step down one when entering the shower. It gives the illusion that the water isn't just gonna spill out of the shower since it's not the same level as the rest of the bathroom.

i feel so weird being an avid lover of the moschino pack 😭 my sims are always wearing the tshirt as pajamas and the lace boots, and i absolutely love the photography for family portraits

Sand is useful in parks, so kids can play in it. I rarely built a sandpit, but often use sand abilities. 👌🏻

The sandbox one was surprising because at this point we don’t expect the sims team to put this much thought into the details

Didn't Lovestruck come with a glass panel specifically designed to make walk-in shower rooms more easily?

For the walk in shower just put a wall and just use any of the eco lifestyle windows, it's the same idea but with like half the steps

0:28 I only recently discovered that the terrain paint is actual stuff. I used to do sand floor panels and it would leave no foot prints. I them made a pool for a country mansion, ran out of money for sand around the pool, and used the terrain paint to find out I had been wasting money on floor panels. Best discovery ever.

I'm with you, the sandbox one is nice, easy and fun, the other hacks are for pro builders 😂 I'm not gonna fiddle either. Thanks for the end bit, that looks a lot easier to put a little room under the stairs. I would still use the archway though, so you can see the cute nook from the room you're in. Thinking... would the walls look stupidly tall if you build a loft on top and just remove the rest of the flooring.... probably... but I'm gonna try that cause I love lofts and want to use the long hanging lamps one day too😂

I don’t even make a box, just put it all around the monkey bars and swings. I found out it worked when my sim just started building sand castles in it

The basement is what makes the stuff function lol def takes some time to figure out :)

In the loft room example, I noticed that they lowered the office/closet room by one. As if it was a platform and you lower it by one. I do this to make flower beds, just use the High School fence like they did with the sandbox and then lower it one step, use the floor tile from Misc called clean room or basement floor and then you can either use debug plants, or plant plants and then place them in there.

i once did the raised bed hack. it wasn't that specific one but same concept, and it worked until it didn't. for whatever reason at some point it bugged out and the sim stopped being able to get to the bed to sleep, and i couldn't be bothered to redo it to fix it, so i just got rid of it and made a normal room

Glad I'm not the only one who's immediately like: No!, whenever I see the basement or TOOL is needed...!

The sand pit one is wild. I've had Island Living for so long and did not know you could do this
