I did the research, He launched from the Horizon Tower in Dubai at nearly 190mph, flew roughly 2855 feet and landed in the pool at the Hilton Dubai Jemeirah. He would’ve hit the water at 230mph give or take.

The scary thing is, someone's going to try this for real now. Reminds me of the performance stunt a friend had planned at the art college I went to. He hand stitched a canvas body bag on which he attached hundreds of tint hooks to the shoulders and arms. A scaffold platform had a cable rig which ran the length of the former church and under tension to support him inside the bag on a cable. He then spent two days knotting together the bands to create a primitive slingshot, where all the bands were them tied off on the far wall. His plan had been to glide toward the far wall on the cable, but health and safety insisted on a dummy run with a weighted sack first. Dan wasn't so keen and just wanted to get on with it but was banned from doing the stunt without safety supervision and so he reluctantly agreed. Because of the distance to travel everyone's expectation was that his weight would essentially cause too much drag on the cable and he would barely manage a couple of meters before coming to a halt. The weighted sack was duly attached, with the bands splayed out across the far wall on hooks similar to those on the suit and Dan pulled the lever... the sack never even touched the cable and flew into the far wall and disintegrated in a cloud of dust with an almighty thud in less than five seconds. With a moment of shocked silence, everyone turned to Dan who looked as pale as a ghost when he realised what his fate would have been had he gone ahead as planned. It was still a great spectacle and I doubt those that were there have ever forgotten the experience.
