It is seen that some time we need to automatically start the machine and shut down the machine after a specified time . Scenarios like Server shut down after office work commony belongs to this category. Most of the time in these scenarios user either forgot to shut down the machine and will switch off the main power before he leaves the office. This way may not be good for the Operating system as it might corrupt the files in the machine. The proper way is to shut down the machine properly before you switch off.
