Loco No.7 'Tom Rolt' on test

Loco No.7 has undergone a major overhaul, and is now on test before returning to traffic duties at the end of August.
Our engineering department has undertaken the work - and managed to get the loco back into traffic after only 8 months.
Its first job was to transport a new fridge to the Engineering Mess room - essential freight!

Who wouldn’t mind if The Talyllyn Railway operated freight/commercial services again, along with the tourist traffic?

There are many reasons to love the Talyllyn Railway, one of them is that all the engines are taken care of so pristinely that it takes almost not time at’all to get them back into running order when they need servicing

When I was at Tywin in June, Tom Rolt was just a boiler on wheels undergoing steam tests. The engineering team has done an amazing job getting Tom Rolt back together!

And a very good test of the engine's pulling power, since refrigerators are known to be quite heavy things

Is it weird to think that no.7 would look good in Caledonian blue
