I used the awl in some leather to make an extra hole in my belt and it worked awesome. The scissors are awesome too!

I bought a couple of gerber suspensions and a gerber suspension nxt used off ebay. I used the suspensions to do a little stuff around my Mom's house as we were getting ready to sell it. I was pretty disappointed with most of the functions on both of those tools. I went back to using my leatherman Wingman quite a bit. I still like these cheapies but I am not going to be buying anymore of them...I hope. I just don't want to get in the habit of relying on them when you really need a good tool. I was so impressed with my Leatherman fuse the other day when I was working on a Vermeer wood chipper. The fuse even cut through a 4 or 6 guage battery cable (easy, and I couldn't get my sidecutters to cut through it without a ton of force, so I tried the fuse and it easily cut through the cable. Thanks for that review.

The locking bar from what I can tell is not plastic...it looks like a painted metal, maybe pot metal, maybe aluminum. They do look like plastic though.
