I bought the 48 quart version and I'm still checking it out. I'm pretty sure your cooler will support solar, but it has to have a battery in it. BougeRV is having a Dad Day sale right now (6/10/23) and they sell a battery that fits for $150 and free shipping.
I filled my 48 Qt. model with 7 liters of single serve yogurt containers full of tap water and set both zones to -4 F. It took nearly 2 days, inside the house, to freeze them and get the temp down to -4 F. I don't think that's bad at all. That's a pretty big load for a porta-freezer. With all that frozen water in there as ballast, this thing is sipping electricity to maintain the -4 F temp. At its worst it was pulling 60 watts while it was freezing the water. If you assume that it did that for the whole 48 hours, which it didn't, and considering that it was actually less than 48 hrs to get down to -4 and then you multiply 60 watts by 48 hours you get 2.88 kilo watt hours of energy. Where I live that costs just short of 30 cents to make a whole cooler full of 6 oz. Ice cubes at -4 F. I'm running it connected to a kilowatt meter just to see how much it costs to use it as a small deep freeze for about a week. The only thing that would make mine better is if it had been given to me. LOL

I think what I appreciate most about this review, especially since you got it for free (excuse my language) is that you weren’t “all up on their nuts” ya know what I mean. It’s a real review, “real guy review” not just pointing out the good stuff and making it out to be better than it is. In fact, I’m remodeling my pop up camper and this will go great in the pop up. I am really considering one for our base camp pop up camper. Thanks!

After watching this and many other reviews of the newair electric
cooler, I decided to purchase... I was prepared to purchase their
115QT cooler after trying the 48QT out over the 4th of July weekend! I
spent an extra $35 to get it here just for that purpose! Well I got a
cooler forget any electric part of it! It came in defective AC and DC
connections would not power up this device. I called customer support
who after several time of me telling her you don't sell this device with
a battery their is nothing to charge then she asked if I got charging
cables! I'm not sure what I'm supposed to charge but I did try both AC
& DC to power up the cooler I guess maybe she thought I fabricated
cables to do that with?!? I was finally told they would send a
replacement & RMA with shipping documentation to send the defective
product back... I'm still waiting! So I figured I would see what heir
115 QT coller cost with their 30% advertised 4th of July sale, imagine
my surprise to see the price also went up for their sale by over $100!
At this point certainly could not and will not recommend this company's
electric coolers

Can you post a link to the newair at Costco? Because Costco don't seem to carry this 700$ cooler and the Massimo cooler is over 900$
