Ultra-High-Speed Image Capture with Machine Vision Lighting from Smart Vision Lights

What do you get when you pair a ping-pong ball and a shop vac with an AVT camera and SVL LZE300 NanoDrive lights for machine vision? Smart Vision Lights' Director of Engineering Steve Kinney gives a fun demo of ultra-high-speed image capture.
Using a shop vac as an air stream, he loads a ping-pong ball into a tube and shoots it out the end, aiming to get it moving close to 100mph. This triggers a beam sensor, which triggers the Smart Vision LZE300 NanoDrive™ lights.
The machine vision lights trigger 4 times at 10 microseconds each, with 1.5 milliseconds in between each firing. The AVT camera captures the whole frame and all 4 pulses.
Smart Vision Lights is the leading designer and manufacturer of LED lighting solutions for any type of machine vision or automation camera application.
