Audi A3 8P Reverse Mirror Dip / Curb View / Spiegelabsenkung mit Rückwärtsgang
Показать описание
This is possible on any Audi A3 8P with 3 or 5 doors , LDH or RHD.
How it works:
1.Turn mirror selector to the passenger side.
2. Put in reverse
3. Mirror will lower to a predefined position.
4. Set it now to what you need it to be and then turn the mirror selector to the middle position to save the position.
5. Now every time you put the car in to reverse the mirror will lower to the position set at point 4 if the mirror selector is set to the passenger position.
6. Mirror goes to the normal position when driving over 15 km\h or turn the selector off the passenger position.
Required parts:
7 x repair wire 000979009E or the coresponding PIN
1 x Tyco 9-965382-2 which will be impossible to find :) it's the green 8 pin connector for for the mirror motor. You can make one from the a 12 pin connector from a Quadlock connector and just trim that to 8 pin.
Pre Facelif cars, with separate comfort module 46 available:
1 x 4E0 959 577 A or C or similar from the other cars. Most xxx959578x ones are with memory (These are memory motors from pre facelift Audi A4.A5.A6 , Golf 5, Skoda Superb etc) as far as I know but just check it is an 8 pin connector as oposed to a 3pin for non memory ones. These pre facelift motors are held in place with 3 torx screws.
1 x door controller MAX 8P0959802 with ending G. The ones with F and D are also MAX but some do not have the pins for memory. Check Pins 1,2,3,9 are present on the 16 PIN connector to be sure it supports it.
Facelift cars (~2010+) with comfort module 46 integrated in 09 and "big" ( Dumbo :) ) mirrors:
1 x 8T0959578A or C or similar from the other cars. Most xxx959578x ones are with memory (These are memory motors from Audi A4.A5.A6 , Golf 6, Skoda Superb etc) as far as I know but just check it is an 8 pin connector as oposed to a 3pin for non memory ones. These facelift motors are held in place with 1 center torx screw and 2 side clips.
1 x door controller MAX 8P0959802 with ending J , M or P. Check Pins 1,2,3,9 are present on the 16 PIN connector to be sure it supports it.
This will only work on the passanger door as only this door controller will have the needed pins for memory position.
Steps:
1. Take down the door panel. Will differe on 3 or 5 door.
2. Disconnect the 16 Pin connector.
3. The fast way is to now remove the plastic cover on the left side of the door and take down the mirror and gently move the cables through the door to work on the mirror. The recommanded way is to remove the door frame and then take of the mirror.
4. Remove the mirror adjustment motor. 1 or 3 screws depedning on vFL or FL.
5. Remove mirror cap upwards, and then remove bottom part.
6. Pull the 4 wires through the middle sleeve. First one will be the hardest one the rest will be easy. Add a 5th one if you want to add mirror puddle light at some point ;)
7. Cut the 3 Pin's off the old mirror and add 000979009E PIN to those and the other 4 cables on this end and the remaining 4 on the other side of the cables you just pulled through.
8. Connect cables on the mirror motor side and door controller side as follows:
LHD cars so controller on right side of the car
Mirror - Door control module
1 – 2 Mirror memory motor Y-Axis
2 – 4 Mirror adjustment motor Y-direction
3 – 1 Mirror memory motor Y-Axis
4 – not used
5 – 3 Mirror memory motor X-Axis
6 – 5 Mirror ground
7 – 9 Mirror memory motor X-Axis
8 – 12 Mirror adjustment motor X-direction
