Severance -Everything they told you about severance is a lie

When Helly steps to the stage for her speech, she reveals that she is Helena’s innie, rather than Helena herself, and that “everything they told you about severance is a lie,” with workers effectively being “prisoners” subjected to endless torture. Back at the book reading, Mark comes upon a photo of his wife, who he immediately recognizes as Lumon wellness worker Ms. Casey (Dichen Lachman)—exclaiming, “She’s alive!” Then, Milchick makes his way into the control room and tackles Dylan, and we cut to black. Severance explained.

So fascinating to imagine what happens in the seconds after “ding”. Do the outies realise that the innies have been controlling their bodies? How quickly do they figure it out? Burt’s outie finds himself banging on a door yelling Burt’s name. Presumably Burt comes to the door. Do the outies know each other? Mark has just yelled “she’s alive”. Is he still holding the picture of Gemma, will he know that’s who his innie was yelling about? Helena has just been tackled to the floor after Helly R announced to the Friends of Lumon that the innies are miserable and tortured. How will she salvage the situation? How will Lumon respond? I can’t wait to find out!

Love how they literally "split her head open" to reveal the real person hiding inside.

Entire world shocked to discover people don't like being stuck in an underground office environment effectively 24/7.

Something I noticed unconsciously while watching this, until it became conscious, was the role of "Dylan as Jesus Martyr" throughout this episode. I kept thinking to myself that he's the hero of this episode, he's sacrificing his own desire to know who his outer personality is, he's sacrificing getting to meet his kids, which he wants more than anything, etc, in order to help his friends. Then I realized he's physically splayed out much like Jesus for the entire episode. And it clicked. Suffering through the pain/discomfort and stress of the prolonged splayed out position, and sacrificing his own wants and desires for literally *the greater good.* So his friends can figure out who they really are, what's really going on, and in Helly's case, warn the entire world. None of it was possible without Dylan willing to be the one to sacrifice himself, so to speak.

I also couldn't stop noticing the parallels between the whole Egan cult thing and Scientology. The big event at the end where Helly is the speaker, shown in this clip, all snazzy and high level with the high level elites, smacks of glitzy Hollywood Scientology events, full of their lifelong, brainwashed members who've been in it since birth, thanks to their own parents. Speaking weird and brainwashed, trying to convince themselves and others of the righteousness of it all. I went online to see if anybody else was seeing it and found many discussions noting it.

One thing I've noticed is both Marks ... are really good guys ... also both of them are working together ... probably why in the opening intro you see them coming together ... I like how his sister was the first to meet innie mark ...

This was so intense and my favorite episode. The first episode started kind of slow for me but it got better and better each episode. Now I’m impatiently waiting for season 2.

I've watched this season 3 times, with 3 different groups of people. EVERY single time, the people who hadn't seen before literally yelled "NO!" when the screen went black at the end of this scene, lol.
