“Benediction”
Hebrews 13:18-25
1. Pray for us. (vs 18)
2. We are confident that we have a clean conscience.(vs 18)
3. In all things desiring to live honorably.(vs 18)
4. The writer was not able to visit the readers personally, but he did need their prayers.
5. It is possible, that some of his enemies had lied about him, so he has to affirm his honesty and integrity.
6. Prayer is linked to our personal behavior.
7. The readers were first generation Hebrew Christians.
8. The God of peace can make us complete in every good work.
a. To do His will.
b. To do His work.
c. To please Him.
d. To glorify Him forever and ever.
9. He wants to make us complete.
“To set…”
“To mend…”
“To outfit…”
“To equip…”
10. How does He equip us?
The Scriptures.
Prayer.
Fellowship at church.
Other believers.
Suffering.
11. The basis of this marvelous work is “the blood of the everlasting covenant.” (vs 20)
12. This covenant makes us complete in every good work.
13. This covenant works in us continually.
14. This covenant causes us to want to glorify Christ and Christ alone.
15. His will and His work will continue after we are gone.
