One of the greatest gifts of all time is to be able to coach and teach. It is such a blessing and I learn so much engaging with the amazing students and parents we are involved with. Living a life of service is a big topic for our home and school. Serving is the fastest and best way I know of to living a life of fulfillment. Last week I had the opportunity to take a group of high school students on a short trip to help build an earth bag structure near Mission South Dakota on the Rosebud Indian Reservation. The Rosebud Indian Reservation is an Indian reservation in South Dakota, United States. It is the home of the federally recognized Sicangu Oyate – also known as Sicangu Lakota, and the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, a branch of the Lakota people. What an incredible people the Lakota are. We were honored to be amongst them for a short period of time where they shared some of the Lakota culture customs, prayers, songs and dance. It was a great experience and some of us are eager to join them again.

As with most acts of giving those who are trying to serve typically end up receiving much more than they give, that was true for us. The small amount of help we were able to give pales in comparison to the gifts we received from the Lakota people and those working with this project. The building project we are a part of is sponsored by Lakota Child and Family, the lead builder is DJ from Unsheltered Earth. Love conquers all, we were humbled by the open arms of the people and how we were treated. Chief said that the love, care, laughs and positive attitudes of these kids set the stage for the entire project.

They'll Know We Are Christians" (also known as "They'll Know We Are Christians By Our Love" or "We Are One in the Spirit") is a Christian hymn written in the 1960s by then-Catholic priest, the late Fr. Peter Scholtes. It is inspired by John 13:35.

If you have question about this project there is some information in the description. This was a blast! The ad is not mine but rather from youtube as my channel is not big enough yet for monetization.
