Information:

There are very few historical information about this unit. It is known that the experimental flamethrower was planned on the basis of the promising chassis of the Uralvagonzavoda T-54. The project began to be developed in the Leningrad VNII-100 in 1956, but at the same time, the requirements for flamethrower range for machines that did not have artillery weapons-a distance of an effective defeat of more than 250 meters increased. The project could no longer satisfy the new requirements and was curtailed in favor of more promising cars. It was suggested that the 156 object would not have a tower, and the ATO-200 flamethrower will be installed directly in the case.
