Can't wait! First one is honestly one of the best games I've ever played. Combat, platforming, secrets, progression, all 10/10. Be sure to hit up that do-jo to so learn some of the more advanced moves, like canceling the animation of your combo with a dodge, to really spice up the combat. The only critique I have is that the humor is occasionally too try-hard; lots of lazy references to memes and other indie games.

Most satisfying part of Guacamelee is combo-ing into the throw and slamming your enemy into a crowd or the wall, 9.0 well deserved

I rarely finish metroidvania games, but the first game was really good and one of the few I managed to play to the end. I highly recommend playing that one too if it's on your backlog or just pick it up when it goes stupidly cheap on a sale.

I can't wait to play this! Didn't even know about it. Played the first one on the vita, but it will have to sit on the backburner since it's not mobile again. Would have been clutch on the Switch.

P.S. Señor Jones, it's not a big thing, but something to add to your list of pronunciations since I remember you talking about it on Cup of Jones. Juan has more of a who-ahn pronunciation versus wahn. Being that I'm a Juan, I have this conversation quite often.

Loved and platinum’d the first game, but I’m about 2 hours into the second one and can’t help but feel like it’s too heavy on platforming without nearly as much combat. I really wanted to see a whole lot more of both.
