To be honest man, can I politely add, plenty of guys flying solo make great stuff that look like movies. All the time :)

what you said about makeup was spot on. And nobody talks about it in all Youtube xD. If you see a Nolan movie, makeup is in every shot, to even up the look of the lighting with the environment (ex: cold blue look have different foundations on skin than harm looks, depending on whats the emotional mood of the shot that need to be amplified). and that simple trick with the psychology of color pallet, give more control to skin tones in the frame. Meaning that the real teal and orange is better done in camera than in post. Well I was going to explain further more, but I don't want to bored you. Peace

Production design: the reason movies are done in studios is because things in the frame have the exact right shape, size (not always 1:1) and colors to acheve a certain environment. Shooting on location, especially indoors is a myth. You have to build rooms with extremely high walls, custom colors and fake perspectives.

Hi there, little bit of advice: make your videos the actual aspect ratio of the widescreen frame you're showing. Really annoying to watch this with black bars all around the thing on a wide monitor

Modern movies pretty much SUCK and look terrible. If you use an actual FILM CAMERA it would be better.... They do all they can to try and make digital look like film but NOPE. You are young. Go watch some 80's THAT MY FRIEND IS MOVIES
