Good to see him classified as fast. Srinath was probably the first genuinely quick bowler to come out of India post 1947. He really suffered from not having a proper bowling coach during his initial years. He bowled great deliveries without getting too many wickets because of his habit of not bowling close to the wicket. It took him quite a while to sort that problem out. I am glad the current Indian team has great support staff.

Thanks to Kapil over playing by 4 years and selectors choosing chuts like Prabhakar, Srinath did not become a regular until well into his 20s. Missed out on atleast 2 quality years of tests and ODIs early in his career.
