What I have to say about the 2013 Toyota RAV4: It was 10 years ago when the Full Size SUV Market was for high demand by consumers, but the RAV4 was one of the very first car based SUVS to be on the North American market. It's now in it's 4th generation and Toyota has done a pretty good job at redesigning at, the last generation was very popular and sold well, but did not have the same RAV4 roots that it always had, this one however fixes that. The V6 will be missed, but again those were never a part of the basic RAV4 ingredients. The interior of the new RAV4 is a nice cabin to be in with nice french stitching across the dashbaord and a great ergonomically correct interior. All wheel Drive is an option and cargo space still remains pretty good. All in all great SUV from Toyota, Camerons Car Reviews highly recommends putting this car to your test drive list if your looking for a Small SUV, don't forget this is also Camerons Top Choice for a Small SUV for 2013.

I test drove the new RAV4 3 times. I found the ride to be very firm on even the slightest road flaw. However it does not pitch and tilt side to side as abruptly as the last gen rav4. In the end I bought a 13' CR-V due to it's more supple, smooth ride in around town driving, which is 90% of what we do. Also the CR-V engine is the smoothest, quietest 4 cylinder engine I have ever seen.

We think it will be redesigned in 2015, but it is not for sure when they are going to redesign it or not.

Did you notice how soft the carbon fiber was by the shifter? It scratches WAY too easily. The window button material also leaves scratches. I want to buy the RAV but no one has a solution for the scratching...

My goal is not to compete with saabkyle although his videos are superb dont get me wrong, but I try to focus my videos towards consumers than car enthusiasts and saabkyle goes more in depth with other things that some consumers dont really care for. Also, his videos are about 25 minutes on average while mine or about 10minutes.

The suspension and engine are good. Has a truck feel when driving it. Just concerned about the hard seats and only one power point.

Kudos to you for making the video. As for the '13 Rav4 redesign, I'll say the did a GREAT job on the exterior- which of course was well needed. Unfortunately, the interior is quite disappointing IMO. Still very "plasticy"- that carbon fiber look just looks very out of place. Your mentioning of the seat comfort was amusing, as every major review I've read mentions that Honda's seats are far more comfortable, also having far better lumbar support. The CRV also has more 2nd row passenger room.

I had a 2011 Rav 4 AND the ride was uncomfortable and bumpy we ended up selling it after a month. Does the 2013 Rav still have a stiff ride?

As for the engine, the Rav4's is slightly larger yet still generates less HP. And even with a 6sp ATM, still doesnt equal the CRV's MPG. CRV is still a more quiet vehicle inside. Finally, when you do an "aplles to apples" comparision- equal trim and feature levels, the Rav4 typically is actually more expensive.

Don't get me wrong- the '13 Rav4 is a amrked improvement. It just could have been alot more. Toyota is still playing "catch-up" to Honda IMO, especially with interiors.

Are they going to redesign the Tacoma for 2014?

The Honda's interior is also very "plasticy", the CR-V is still a very great choice however it would be my second choice, trust me it was a close tie between the RAV4 and CR-V.

All trim level should have power liftgate.

Um, it's a squinty-eyed turkey: The driver seat, like almost every single Toyota except one, is made for a driver under 5'9' tall. Chevy Equinox fits you even if you are tall. You can get an '11 for $10, 000 less than this.
