PacificCorp's "Prospect Nos. 1, 2, and 4 Hydroelectric Project" goes back to nearly the turn of the 19th century.

At the start of the video is the Red Blanket Canal, which contains water diverted from the South and Middle Forks of the Rogue River and Red Blanket Creek. It empties into the North Fork of the Rogue River above Prospect and the North Fork Dam.

From the dam, a portion of the water is diverted south to PacifiCorp's powerhouses Nos. 1, 2, and 4, and then the water rejoins the Rogue River above Lost Creek Lake (a large reservoir that is not used for power generation).

On the northern riverbank above the dam is Pacificorp's North Fork Recreation Area, a day-use area open to the public with picnic tables, grills, access to the water (except where excluded by the floating booms above the dame, and a southern trailhead for the Upper Rogue River Trail.

Video made on November 2, 2024.
