Plastic pollution is one of the biggest environmental challenges we face today. In this vlog, we take you to Tratas Beach and the Pang Pang River in Java, Indonesia, where plastic waste accumulates to depths of 5 to 7 feet and clings to the trees.

These scenes illustrate the urgent need to reduce single-use plastics. Watch the vlog to witness the reality of plastic pollution and join us in the fight for a cleaner, healthier planet.

About 4ocean:

Holy cow that's a daunting task to hand pick. Indonesian army needs to loan out some heavy equipment for that mess.

I love it. Collect plastic insteads of catching fish. Giving the oceans a break both ways. ❤

Than k you for all the hard work you do to help fight plastic pollution. There are so many countries that don't have a waste disposal system set up or recycling services. Bringing this matter to their attention surely will help. The companies that produce this plastic need to step up and help fix this problem too.

Plastic is not the problem. People not using TRASH BINS is the problem. If your plastic goes into a bin, then it can be safely transported to a landfill and not clutter up our communities and beaches and nature. Amazing work guys!

I'm happy that I continuously keep finding more and more organizations like this. The question I have is, why don't you all join up into one coalition? Ocean Cleanup, Sungai Watch, 4ocean, etc.... join together and come up with ideas together

There is obviously a big issue with garbage collections and residents disposing of rubbish in the water ways which ends up on the beach and in the mangroves. Big change needed, the government needs to step up.
Thank you guys for everything you're 😊 doing

Has 4Ocean ever considered getting into the waste management business? That could stop a lot of plastic from getting into the environment in the first place.

Marvellous!!!❤🙏The greatest success would be to fix the waste management system there, and to cut down plastic consumption somehow...

I wonder how much of the rubbish is washed up from neighbouring countries? It shows that we need to work together as a planet to keep our oceans clean, for the ocean life, animals and humans alike. One World mentality 🤩

- admirable. Imagine what could be accomplished if all able-bodied people (say 6.5 billion globally) spent just one day a year cleaning up their surroundings.

The local people are hugely responsible along with other communities along the coast.

I wish there was more footage of cleaning and less talking about cleaning. Like a time lapse of cleaning that bamboo tree or something.

That first scan at 7:14 is crazy! You need a rake to get that stuff out :( So sad to see it this way, please find a way to keep these workers hopeful! They need every ounce of encouragement they can get!! <3
