is the RT82 the same as the RT85 other than cartridge and platter? i was thinking of getting the RT82 and upgrading the platter and cartridge later and dont want to miss some other diffrence between them. Thanks.

I was thinking about buying an Rt82 from fluance sometime in the near future. However, the only thing I am concerned about is quality control as I've heard your turntables are made in China. Although I did see one reviewer notice that his box said 'made in Taiwan.'
Given the tension between Taiwan people and the government of China, I would feel much better knowing that these were manufactured in Taiwan. Is this true? Or are they made outside of Taiwan? I understand that the CCP considers Taiwan as a part of China but I would like to know that these were made in Taiwan as opposed to mainland China.

Why three feet instead of four? It seems to me that the turntable would be steadier.
