Love the idea of actually slowing down. There is a saying, "take the time to do it right or you will have to take the time to do it again".

I love the one about not doing things that aren't necessary, like not cutting the sandwich. For me that means cutting back on YouTube videos that aren't necessary. I actually found myself watching a video about cleaning shower doors, and I thought:why am I watching this when I don't have shower doors, I have curtains lol

Slowing down is really important in getting things done. Years ago a Japanese carpenter told me "do the job slowly and it will be more enjoyable." I try to remind myself of that when I get too focused and start rushing things.

The one about mere seconds reminded me of a teacher I had in high school. He loved to tell us about all the tiny things he did or didn't do that might only involve seconds, but how 60 seconds add up to a minute and those minutes add up to half hours and hours. He talked a lot about being prepared and thinking ahead to save time and energy. He was equally my least favorite and most favorite teacher as a result of his classroom rules -- a lot of them felt dumb at the time, but they taught time management and executive function skills that have stayed with me for more than 30 years!

As a professional organizer, I’ve given people the batch work advice… only to realize just now that I rarely do it myself. I do just as you say - do a little task here… move on to a different one. Helps to keep momentum on lots of things and keep me entertained.

I love your wisdom. The brain vs body battery concept is such a key thing for me. I dont fight with my brain or body anymore. I wait until im in the right space for each, and the process goes MUCH more smoothly. ❤

I've decided that since I'm 47, I get four 47 minute breaks. Or 8 twenty three minute breaks. I don't take all the breaks each day, but it's always a joy when my "chore spinner" lands on "break."

I do lot I don't 'have to' this one was a really nice tip for me... I always look for things to add but not things to remove. Really like this one . ❤

I love your ideas and inspiration! ❤
A funny story about "no one will ever remember"... At least funny for me and my friend 😁...
I used to iron every single piece of tableware (is that an existing word? I mean things like middle pieces, napkins, place mats etc). I think about 3 years ago, I did not find the time to iron before Christmas. I discussed with a friend, that no one will ever remember if that stuff has been ironed or not for Christmas Eve. We used un-ironed place mats and napkins and had a super comfy evening. Now every year my friend reminds me to iron before Christmas 😂😂. This is our type of humor and we laugh about it that now, every year, we remember 😂😂...

I really like your point about being intentional, rather than just trying to cram in as much as possible. Thanks so much for sharing these thoughts.

Laura, I absolutely LOVED this video! This was my favorite of all the ones you’ve made. So much great advice!!! I especially was struck by your first idea. Slowing down to get more accomplished. Don’t think I’ve ever run into that in any other video. You’ll laugh, but it is the first time I’ve actually understood that old adage from Latin class. Festina Lente (sp?) (Make haste slowly, for those who never had Latin). You explained it so thoroughly that it is no longer a mystery. Your house is looking so beautiful, calm and peaceful. So many wonderful camera angles in this video. Thank you Laura! Enjoyed this so much. Now I am going to rewatch. ❤️☘️.

Loved this video! Whilst I didn't consider myself a planner, I do like to be organised about what needs to be done (so maybe 😏). But I i like the idea of a reflection at the end of the day and note what went well that day, positive comments and what I could potentially improve on. I do have a few notebooks and I think I might just crack one of them open and start writing. 😊

So many good thoughts to consider in this one. The dual battery concept makes so much sense. I like having my chores spread through the week as it frees my brain from thinking "I have to get all this done before I van relax." I know that I will be hitting that chore on its scheduled time. 🌻🍄

I LOVE this video. I'm back watching it for a third time. The tips are really unique and are resonating big time with me. I can't wait to try them!!! You mentioned your daily pages, I found a couple vids where you talked about morning pages, but do you have a vid about the evening reflection you're doing? Thank you!!

Just a cooking time productivity & safety tip - if you put all those tiny potatoes on a plate and then invert another plate on top to sandwich them in between, you can just run the knife between the 2 plates and cut them all at one time. And protects your fingers! :)
