Oh boy, memories are coming back. 1986.... 17 years young. Ran away from Germany. Originally for 3 or 4 weeks, in the end it was 6 months criss-crossing Turkey. Got stuck in Alanya. Went to exactly this spot every day with my new local friends from Alanya. It was called Cleopatra Beach back then too. The beach was basically empty. You could count the few people on both hands. I went there again in 88 with the mother of my sons. Changes were already clearly noticeable. Then again for work in 2017. The shock is still there today. The memories live on and I will never see Alanya again.... Nevertheless, thank you for the experiences I had. I was young, my pockets were empty, but it shaped me as a person. For a lifetime. How I would love to see the two brothers and Anne and Babba again, who had a small shop on the main street back then. Today the building is unrecognizable and I believe there is a McDonald's branch in this one or one next door.
