DJI Pocket 3 CONS - 7 Things We DON'T Like About It

It's no secret that I love the DJI Pocket 3 and it is the BEST compact camera of 2023. BUT...it's not perfect. After 3 months of using the Pocket 3 to vlog, here are 7 cons or things we DON'T like about the DJI Pocket 3, and why we still use an action camera / GoPro to vlog.

The Pocket 3 is THE BEST compact camera of 2023. I will continue to say that. However, it’s not without flaws. These our are long-term observations after using this camera to vlog for several months, and why we’ll continue to use an action camera as our main vlog camera, plus how the Pocket 3 actually fits in our vlogging workflow.

It's pretty clear you're more used to action cameras. To me, these aren't pocket 3 cons, but more like differences from action cams because it ain't built for outdoor sports. It's like when you're dealing with pricier full-frame cameras, you can't treat them like action cams as well. I think pocket 3 owns the daily vlog game, cheers!

I think that you are spot on with this video. I recently bought the GoPro 12, and when I saw the Pocket 3, I thought that I made a mistake. By watching this video I realized that I was right. My setup is GoPro 12, with Volta, Media Mode, Rode Y split cable, Rode video mic go 2 and Boya wireless mic. The only thing I miss is the ability to simultaneously record on separate audio tracks with Boya and Media Mode internal Mic (so I could drop the Rode video mic 2), and that could be easily fixed with a software update. Hmm, I would have used your OA4 rather than the GoPro…I know one of you uses the OA4 primarily, and the other likes GoPro. Either are good! Love the OP3, but it is definitely one where you need to be a bit more careful…still it is great! Liked the 14 minute child proof test warning!

Thanks for sharing both sides. I bought the Pocket 1 several years ago, and while it was fun for a few weeks, I found it required too much fiddling vs just grabbing my GoPro or even my phone when I wanted to shoot something. I’m thinking this camera would result in the same place for me after the initial testing and the newness fades.
