I love Washimi in her Japanese voice. She is so calm, collected and cool. She has a very satisfying voice which goes so well with her honest demeanor, not something most people can pull off.

This anime is actually portraying modern women so well...just this clip alone was more interesting...there's no shame in wanting to get married or wanting a divorce...wanting to stay single and changing your mind later.

Fun fact about Secretary Birds I just googled, they are monogamous birds. You can see them hanging out like an elderly couple atop an Acacia tree lmao.

One hand: In defense of Washimi, getting married then divorced after four months can be pretty hard on somebody emotionally. I think Gori was kind of the jerk rub in that she 'failed' at marriage. Most people feels like they failed when a relationship they were invested into doesn't work out. It's part of grieving the loss. The issue is I don't see Washimi being that type to work out the emotions after a fallout. So maybe she did more rationalizing but still feels sore on the subject like a bad aftertaste.

Other hand: In defense of Gori, Washimi knows Gori has been struggling with her love life and is the kind of woman that fantasizes herself being happy and settled down. I think maybe as a friend she could have either not said anything or phrased it better. My issue with Gori is she's only interested in young, fun men. Most guys her type aren't serious about settling down for an older woman and still need to figure their own life before getting with somebody. I don't think that means she's not cut out for marriage. So that was a low blow on Washimi's part. Gori just needs to be a little more realistic and maybe settle for a guy or change her standards a bit to date somebody long term.

It’s so cool that the bird lady is a species called “ secretary bird “ that’s fitting since they work in a office lol, it’s so fitting, I wonder if it was on purpose ..

To be fair they both have good points. True there will be heartbreak and trauma if the relationship doesn’t work out. But on the otherhand, there is still a chance for that SO out there for you.

I just realized Washimi’s voice actress is Tara Platt, the voice of Edelgard from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. The have so much in common: realistic, practical, straight to the point and with the same “as a mattter of fact” tone

I agree with Washimi and Gori. Marriage is not for everyone, but 4 months is too short to be considered a serious commitment. You cannot rush into it without establishing a firm relationship and fully knowing each other (faults and all). Kabae managed to do it by being herself, and it worked out for Kabae and her husband.

In Washimi's defense, she is objectively right. Gori has the tendency to date younger men but those population focus more on fun and games. Not really the settling kind. She also lied about her age so misleading the guys as well. The way Washimi said it is a bit too direct/blunt so came off harsh but as friends we get to be more objective than the person in the relationship. The people in relationship tend to see the other person in rose colored glasses. E.g. Washimi alrdy predicted that Space Cadet doesn't seem to care much about Retsuko if he let her bleeding while walking in her shoes. Retsuko brushed it off and oblivious until she finally able to see it. Yeah Washimi can be rather blunt but Gori should also realize Washimi's intention and that's just how she talks.

Not gonna lie, I've been seeing these "Multi-Audio" videos in my notifications and I always dismissed them as "These are probably loops of the same clip in different languages for 15-20 minutes or it's a short clip where they randomly switch languages throughout the video, " but nope, there's an actual audio track feature in YouTube.

You can see both sides of the coin here. Marriage isn’t for everyone as Washimi said but you shouldn’t jump to the conclusion that if you couldn’t make a marriage, someone else shouldn’t try for it. In my opinion I feel like there needs to be more context. I feel like 4 months into a marriage and getting a divorce shouldn’t exactly make you an expert on it.

They're both wrong, but honestly I think Washimi is the more wrong one. Gori is right that just because Washimi had one failed marriage that doesn't mean she's an authority on it all of a sudden. Plus she was only married for 4 months. It sounds to me like an emotionally abusive husband situation where he stopped masking his personality after he thought he had Washimi trapped in the marriage. It's actually kind of sad that Washimi blames that on marriage itself instead of the man who fucked it up.

It's definitely not her place to tell anyone they're "not suited for marriage". Frankly I think Washimi's perspective on marriage is incredibly naive, not wise. Because she's only judging by her own experiences and not actually looking outside herself at the many examples of working healthy marriages.

The English and Japanese phrasing gives off different vibes.
English: "The opportunity never came up."
Japanese: "There was no need."
English made it seen like an accident/ oversight, but Japanese be intentional.

I get it. Marriage is not for everyone, but you shouldn't bad mouth it or say it is a trap. That's just plain disrespectful.
