To read the book, hit the space bar to pause, then use the comma (,) and period (.) keys to move through the pages. I have the separate high res photographic plates at the end also. Thanks to viewer John Coenraads for sending this very rare book in so that I could share it with all of you. Enjoy!

"You could fit an entire book in a minute! Isn't it marvelous?"
As close to a microfiche as it gets.

I _love_ these old “how tech works” books. I recently picked up some old books on radio control for boats and airplanes. Fascinating stuff. It heartens to a day when people _wanted_ to learn how things worked. Cheers to the donor of this one and to you for scanning and sharing!

Wow... thanks so much for taking the time to make this video Fran. I guess I'm showing my age (a big number) but this stuff was like a walk down memory lane for me (not that I was around in 1936 when the book was published). I cut my teeth on vacuum tubes, CRTs and this sort of tech so it's a great reminder of just how crude our old gear used to be.

.., , - doesn't work on a phone...🤔?
Setting to 0, 25 speed helps to stop with the pause button on screen.

Fran, you just thought us something I did not know before! Thank you for showing us the keyboard controls to pulse and single frame the video forward and backwards, now that comes in handy for all YouTube videos Nice book about the British Early TV systems.

It reminds me the Sears shopping catalog on Laserdisc. They included parts you were supposed to browse frame by frame.

Only goes to show that everything old is new again: “The early crude pictures have disappeared from the screen and in their place we have high-definition pictures.”

John Logie Baird's son was my professor at Uni. I was a teaching assistant for him when I did my masters. Quite an interesting chap.

..."The early crude pictures have disappeared from the screen and in their place we have high-definition pictures."... Didn't I read that in BestBuy the other day?
